Some of the science interns
This year marked the inception of our science internship program. After years of informal work at local institutions, we created a formal process for students to complete internships at area research institutions.
Students worked at different venues, including the New York State Museum, the Wadsworth Center, and RPI. Projects included preparing specimens for preservation, curating art exhibits, studying foraminiferans with electron microscopes, fruit fly development, stem cell manipulation, and environmental remediation.
Our first year ran quite well, and students did wonderful work off campus. We feel that our new program made their experience more effective.
