Dr. Jasmina Beširević-Regan
On Friday, May 1, students enrolled in Rise of the Modern World history class attended an all day symposium about the Balkan Wars. Guest speaker Dr. Jasmina Beširević-Regan, a professor at Yale, told students about her personal experience with the Balkan Wars while growing up in Bosnia. Students also learned about current issues, such as discrimination and conflicting viewpoints, that are present in Bosnia today. Also among the days actvities was a movie about young people in Bosnia as well as an exercise in which students created their own ideal united Bosnian schools.
