SOARing success
Natalie ’11 and Sophia ’11, next year’s co-heads of the Student Organization for Animal Respect, present a check for $1,323 to Deidre Bruce, volunteer coordinator for The Mohawk and Hudson River Humane Society. These are the funds raised at the spaghetti dinner on May 22.

Phila gives back
Phila is a philanthropy practicum of 12 students that work to help non-profit organizations both locally and internationally. Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous alumna and her husband, Phila begins each year with $4,000 to give away. They accept grant applications and take the time to make thoughtful decisions.

The 100th Commencement on Mount Ida
Emma Willard School held its commencement exercises today. This was the 100th commencement on the Mount Ida campus. Senior Tea
Seniors returned from their retreat this afternoon in time for senior tea, a long-stranding tradition at Emma. The school’s teacup collection was increased significantly in the past two years with donations from alumnae, parents, and friends of the school.
