wrdThe Albany Field Office of the US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants is holding a gala on June 20, 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. on World Refugee Day. The gala is being hosted by Emma Willard School and will be held in Lyon-Remington Hall on the Emma Willard campus. The evening includes a silent auction, live entertainment by acclaimed performers who are themselves immigrants and refugees, a photography exhibition by refugees, and a Mediterranean dinner catered by Lily & The Rose. All proceeds from the Gala and Silent Auction directly support newly-arriving refugees in the Capital Region, providing them with food, clothing, shelter and utilities. USCRI also welcomes donations of items for the Silent Auction to help raise additional funds for refugees. Popular items include gift certificates for restaurants, travel, and beauty services; art work and jewelry; and passes to museum and events.
