Julia Johnson '10 leads the 100th procession on Mount Ida
Emma Willard School held its commencement exercises today. This was the 100th commencement on the Mount Ida campus. The first class to graduate on the Mount Ida campus processed across the inner campus on June 8, 1910. The school’s graduation exercises were held in conjunction with the dedication of Sage Hall, Slocum Hall, and the Gymnasium, now Alumnae Chapel. The new campus was made possible by the generosity of leading female philanthropist Margaret Olivia Slocum Sage, an 1848 graduate of Emma Hart Willard’s Troy Female Seminary, as the school was known until 1895.
