MLK Jr. Service Day
On Wednesday, January 18, 2012, the Emma community united to serve at different organizations in the local community in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The various groups in which Emma girls and teachers were organized into included the Jester Bracelets of Hope group, Boys and Girls Club of Troy Canvas Painting Project group, homeless shelters, YWCA, and much more. After completing community service, the Emma community was divided into groups for reflection, discussing the important things that were learned and suggestions for the future. The Emma community learned many things that day, including teamwork and determination. It was a very inspirational and memorable day for the Emma community because of all the hard work that everyone put in and it was amazing to give back to the community. A massive thank you to Stacey Serrette for organizing Service Day and making it happen for all of us!
