WalkMS
For the past few weeks, the WalkMS team has been raising money for Multiple Sclerosis, a disease that is very disabling. Our team went to Bennington, VT, this past Saturday, September 29th, to walk 5 miles for Multiple Sclerosis patients. As we arrived in our Emma team spirit colors of red, black and white, in the quaint town of Bennington, we were prepared to walk! We entered the hall where we register, and we did some activities including receiving our WalkMS tee-shirts, make little heart notes saying why we are walking, with an option of getting some breakfast. Then we had an information session talking about MS research, and we all ended singing the Star Spangled Banner. Then started our journey! The walk was very nice. We started our walk in Veteran’s Park with the rest of the participants, and travelled through downtown Bennington, and around the town we went. Passing many community members, “admiring” our team spirit, we enjoyed each other’s company and the lovely views of Bennington. After about an hour and a half walking, we finally met the finish line. Waiting for us were orange leis, in support of MS, that were placed around our necks by a cute little girl. It was so precious! We proudly accepted the leis, with a feeling of accomplishment, especially I. As my mother has MS, I was proud to say I can support my mother by doing fundraisers like the one held in Bennington. After our lovely excursion, we had a nice lunch with many of the participants from the walk, and drove right back to our castle. Lastly, we have raised over $2,300, with the help of amazing people, including friends, family, Emma students and faculty, and most of all, our miraculous team! On behalf of the WalkMs team, we would like to thank everyone who has participated, and helped us reach our goal for an amazing cause! Thank you!!!!
